The first things to vanish are bottles of water, then toilet paper and paper towels. Next, long lines at the gas stations. Followed by fist fights at the gas stations.
My point is, in a real SHTF situation gasoline will dry up very quickly so plan accordingly. Check /o/ or /diy/ they may have some opinions about making your own biofuel or alcohol based fuel. I hate to say it, but having an electrical motorbike may be more suitable as you could harvest electrical currents easier than you could synthesize your own petrol.
