>>899493Just get a crank rod, a jig rod, and a top water rod along with one medium spinning rod with light fluorocarbon for drop shots. That's all you need to kill with because the spinning rod works for light plastics and wacky rigged senko style baits. The jig rod can be used for spinner baits too.
Maybe get one high fast retrieve gear ratio reel and one slower one at least to vary retrieve speed.
Get a higher gear ratio for topwater. You want to pull them in quick out of the grass and Lilly pads.
1st rod should be a 6 to something gear ratio bait cast reel and a medium heavy rod for jigs and plastics and chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. You can use that all year. Next is the spinning rod and then the crank rod and topwater rod because the first rod can do both those things okay enough that you won't be pissed off.
