>>1579189I have two questions. First does anybody have any experience with getting a job in an /out/ related nonprofit? I don't see many sites hosting postings and nonprofit sites don't normally have job pages. I'm thinking of just sending out cold-emails to organizations to see if I get any bites, but I don't know if this is standard procedure.
Also how do policy fags break into /out/ careers? When I look at the job postings for the forestry department and NPS it looks like they just want forestry/STEM degrees across the board. Even for policy positions they seem to think its better to shove a science person into a policy role rather than get policy people to grasp the basics of the science. I have a degree in urban/regional planning and a masters in public policy with an emphasis on urban and ecological policy, but I don't know which roles those degrees are desirable for because it looks like you have to work your way from the bottom and the bottom is STEM.
