Every time a hammock general pops up the detractors are complete retards who insists on barfing their ignorance onto everyone.
Hammocks are more bulky, sure. And it’s expensive for a good setup. Both things are mostly because an underquilt is a necessity (let’s not fool ourselves). And there’s some fiddling involved, but it’s not that big of a deal.
But a tent spot being easier to find than a hammock spot? Retarded. He knows it’s a blanket statement and doesn’t fit everywhere with regards to finding trees. Site selection is a huge bonus for hammocks. Forget Anne coral stories (I ran a MeetUp group with 120 people; I have plenty). It’s just common sense. If you’re in a forest, hammock spots are easier to find.
Some other faggot said it’s only for back sleepers. I don’t think I’ve ever slept on my back as an adult. I thought everyone knew about lying diagonally and sleeping on your side.
“My friend was cold and wet in his hammock while I was dry.” Hammocks are better protected in rain than a tent. More fun too.
