Just finished testing out my stove and doing all the measurements. 1l of water at 50F takes 4min to boil and uses 40ml of Denatured Alcohol ("marine stove fuel"), converting that to imperial, about 34oz of water requires 1.3oz of fuel. I round that up to 1.5oz, meaning a 5 day trip, cooking two meals a day requires 15oz of fuel, I round that up to 20 to provide for waste and allow an extra days fuel if need be. Forgot to add the amount of fuel for the gear list.
OP, I highly, highly recommend building an alcohol stove, nearly free, extremely fast boils, and no heavy canisters to carry... and if it breaks it takes 5min to make a new one with a pocket knife.
