>>1770227This is what I use and it has an LED backlight. Its a good compass for general route orientation, not for map plotting. Needle is consistently accurate and swings freely without having to hold the compass level - good for quick orientation while on the move. The light is sufficiently bright and runs on commonly available CR2032 batteries (one battery). Waterproof? Don't think so but this can be improved with duct tape around the perimeter of the plastic housing and over the two lanyard holes. Overall, seems reasonably durable. Like all Coleman products, this is a modestly priced item that will serve for most outdoor usage situations.
