and as those Exide boat batteries will eventually go bad, (as all batteries do) it's well worth the slightly higher cost to replace
them with AGMs.
As mentioned up, I have a busted Xantrex 600 power pack (trickle charger fucked up and boiled over the battery) and when
I looked into refurbishing it, a 55ah AGM at Battery Giant was $100, 'round about the same cost as a boat battery.
There's a reason the solar/wind/alt-energy nerds all use AGM batteries.
