Spend some time researching that. Learn how to break-in a pipe and why. Also, if you're going to be in any windy areas, consider getting a windscreen. Windscreens allow you to manage the burn better, and help prevent scorching or burning the briar. Lastly, each pipe should be dedicated to one brand of tobacco -- or at the very least one type of tobacco.

It smoke very cool, so you can put it in smaller pipes like bulldogs, thinner-walled pipes like Canadians, and non-briar pipes like the Ropp Setting Pipes.
