>>1281719It's positively mental how many different biomes are within three or four hours of each other. Scrubby woodland, high sierras, sand dunes and marshy woodlands and grass plains are all represented.
>>1281674Hey, my gf lives out that way. I'm not really a fan of the desert, but the places where it starts to turn into woodland are absolutely darling.
>>1281082Budget is kinda slim, but I know the market is kinda saturated down where I'm at. Doing an engine job on an old RV is tempting, but I don't really have the space for it--which is another reason why the campervan was such an enticing proposition. I'd heard of people turning shortbuses and even ambulances into campers and that sorta steered me in a direction I'd like to go, but the engine hours on those things must be awful--like cop car levels of idling.
The VW vans I was looking at were mostly the later Vanagons--mainly because they are more modern and they are actually more prone to being on the market at semi-reasonable prices. When you mentioned the gas line I first thought you meant the actual fuel lines, not the lines for the propane tanks that ran the heater or fridge. Thanks for that--definitely will need to test it.
