Funny to see this thread, the other day I went on a bit of a drunken blitz and bought the following pic relateds. (the reason I have two of the brass thingos is because I bought one, seller told me it was out of stock and backordered so I bought one from elsewhere and before I could cancel the first sale they posted it to me with a message saying "actually we just found one!" ah well).
Proper sized candle lanterns like the UCO and a similar Coleman design are great. They burn less O2 than oil lanterns and put off less heat, but they also emit less CO2 and CO and stink, so they're pretty safe. Don't expect them to wow you with BTUs but they're still great to heat your hands over and shit.
>>1246919The mini UCO is nice as well and indeed burns standard tealights which are super easy, but the candles for the larger one are standard as well. Stansport, Coleman, UCO, Coghlans, etc all sell 3.5 inch "9 hr" or "emergency" candles that will fit the larger candle lanterns sold by UCO, Stansport, Coleman, etc.
