Just a standard store that sells standard if somewhat overpriced brands like Patagonia, North Face, etc. They also have a store brand for entry-level equipment. I have a tent of theirs, it's fine. Their publications portray a liberal political stance, which is a recipe for butthurt channers. Likewise, they only cater to the subsection of outdoor activities which interest liberal city dwellers: backpacking, biking (ahem excuse me, CYCLING), rock climbing, kayaking, and apparently yoga. Absolutely no hunting/fishing gear. Wherever you're from, I'm sure you have an equivalent to "REI people:"
>owns no rural property, maybe has one friend with rural property whom they treat as a curiosity/novelty
>all time spent outdoors involves travel to a public destination for a defined period of time
>fierce proponent of leave no trace principles, anti-gun
>owns a nalgene water bottle covered in national park and outdoor brand stickers, Muir/Thoreau/Roosevelt quotes, the word "wander"
>refers to self as "avid hiker" or some such
>has a name like Skyler, Kayla, Jordan, Sierra, Kai, Mason
