if you're hiking for under 14 days and you cant fit your stuff in less than 65L, you're carrying too much shit.
if you're doing it right the more gear you accumulate the lighter/neutral your weight should be. if you go on a walk and dont use something dont take it again (except obviously emergency stuff, an extra days food etc). if an item can be used in multiple scenarios avoid single purpose items (why take scissors when a knife can cut, clean, eat, mend....). packaging is the enemy - dead weight.
