Lots of stuff has been covered here. IMO these are some of the absolute requirements for making full time vanning actually worth it and not maddening. I did this for around a year full time and go on-and-off based on what I want to do for the winter because being an avid backcountry guy and keeping me (and the dog) warm and dry anywhere close to decent BC is very very hard.
>Gym membership
Anytime Fitness is cheap, has locations everywhere, they ALL have showers, and nothing unfolds your body from driving like a bunch of squats/presses/rows. Plus you can do treadmill stuff when it's shitty outside.
>AAA roadside assistance card
You will break down or have some other unmanageable issue on the road and these guys will tow you at any time of the day. Haven't needed it in the van yet (because of the next item) but they have saved my ass in the past.
>Tools and knawledge
tinker with every important aspect of your van both inside and outside. Bring tools and supplies for as many shitty situations you can come up with in your mind.
>Offroad capability
This is huge. Don't get the longest wheelbase van you can find. Get something at least drivable on bumpy/rocky forest service roads and invest in decent tires. Or do what I did and lift a 4x4 e350 and pull Jeep faggots out of the ditch every so often.
>Food
COOK. figure out the meals you like and can do easily on a propane stove and fucking cook. Take up intermittent fasting and have one excellent meal a day instead of three disappointing struggles to make/clean up.
>Work/hobbies
You're on /out/ so item two should be easy, but honestly having something to base your schedule around is super important. Even if it isn't work, if you don't have some kind of schedule you will go fucking insane trying to figure out how to self-motivate. I am lucky enough to be a self employed sysadmin, but even so, it is taxing to make myself open up the laptop every morning.
