Other than being supported by corporations with a vested interest it's really a dead end fuel source given all it's issues when that same research could go into refining solar, wind, geothermal, nuclear etc. Now if someone found some miraculous efficient and clean way of using then great but that's doubtful. And you should not have a gripe with parasites, bugs etc. They are all also important parts of the whole system.
>>2180546Okay first off I want to double check you used salt that doesn't have iodine in it, that's one of the main mistakes that can fuck it up. If you're good there and there's no mold and your brine is producing bubbles as it ferments all should be well. Now first off how long have you been fermenting? I find it takes a good couple weeks in warm weather to get them fermented how I like. The longer they go the more sour they'll get, though too long and the cukes will get mushy.
Lastly though yes, they taste very different from vinegar pickles. They're also sour but there's that fermented taste which may just be something new to you.
In garden news, it's ugly as fuck but I finally got my grapes all wrapped up in chicken wire before the squirrels decided it was grape day and eat them all. It worked well on my hascaps and kiwis so fingers crossed it works on these. I left them a few exposed at least but they'll be pissed at me.
