>>1057023Caught an ever bigger one. Thing actually faught really hard for its size. Here's the story for the first one. I had my 4 weight. Used a 4x leader with a 5x tippet. On the end I had a olive colored wooly bugger with a gold bead head. Not sure on the size and I lost it so I can't take a picture of it. The water was moving pretty quick. My drifts would last maybe 15 seconds when I would cast as far as I could upstream and then it straightening out down stream. I didn't do anything other than let it drift down naturally with the current. Not sure on the water temp but it was pretty warm. I didn't have my wadders on but I still just wet waded anyway. When I caught it I was standing in the water upstream of a slow moving pool where I say a bunch of big rocks. On my side it was all sand. I would drop my fly in the darkest colored area where I could see rocks. About 1/3 of the way through my drift I saw my fly line start getting pulled upstream and I set the hook. Fight on the first one was short since it was a dink but holy fuck was I happy. I was even happier when I caught pic related. I almost took it home since it was belly up in the water in my net but I let him chill there for a few minutes and after a while he started flopping so I let him out and he chilled by my feet letting the current flow through its gills. Slowly it moved its way sideways back into the rocky area and that was that. We only fished a tiny little section too. I can't wait to get back down here by myself so I can cover some real water.
