I need some chili recommendations anons.
Last year I grew a bunch of stuff, but the plants that made me the happiest were the chilis. I grew two varieties: A "Trinidad scorpion" variety where I bought the plant from a hardware store and some cayennes I grew from seed from a plant of the year before. Both grew well and got very big. I'm perfectly happy with the cayennes, but the scorpion variety was rather mild (just a little spicier than the cayennes) and my fruit looked a lot different than the ones in the picture. I was afraid they'd be too hot to be enjoyable and instead I ended up wishing for more heat.
Pic rel are my plants last year, left is cayenne, right is scorpion.
This year I want to grow almost exclusively chilis, but want some interesting or tasty varieties to add rather than just more plants of the same type.
Which ones are you anons favorites?
I considered Aji Charapita, bird's eye and bishops crown, but I'm open to anything. I considered reaper, but I don't think they'd be enjoyable, I don't want heat for the sake of heat. My only condition is the varieties should be seed stable/no F1 hybrids.
I did consider Bolivian rainbow or chinese 5 color chili, but apparently they are only nice ornamentally with pretty disappointing taste, so I changed my mind on those.
