but what does a dispute over free trade of opium between 2 nations have to do with drug legalization or cartels?
if you are trying to cast it as Britain = US and China = Cartels then the war would probably go exactly the same way but the cartels aren't that stupid.
unsurprisingly if your pocketbook has just been raped by drug legalization the smart move isn't to try and fight a world superpower and give them the political will and justification to destroy you. The cartels would just find some other less profitable crime to pursue
