The .270 has a flatter trajectory at medium to long range, less kick, and does less damage to the meat, but also requires more precise bullet placement. There absolutely is a difference, most people who've shot both would easily be able to tell the difference, and you're just making a fool of yourself by pretending you know what you're talking about.
I've got a couple of surplus rifles in 7.62x54r and 8x56r. You gonna tell me how nobody is gonna be able to tell the difference between those two calibers? You can even load 8x56r ammo using 7.62x54r brass, if you know what you're doing and don't mind the neck being short.
