>>897681Idk, the memecasters are bretty fun but I figured you were an aussie so not sure what you are fishing for. If you are casting lots of 1/4oz-1oz (7g-30g) lures, give it a try. The learning curve isn't that bad, it just takes a couple trips to really dial in the brakes and tension and get the casting motion down.
And you don't have to spend $200 just to get a baitcaster that will work. I have the two Abus, a $60 reel and a $160 reel. The $160 reel is lighter and a little more smooth but I honestly still like the $60 Silver Max. I haven't had any issues with it and the magnetic brakes are easy to use. Plus the Silver Max seems to be more forgiving if you don't dial the brakes and tension in exactly right. The Revo SX is so light and sensitive that I have to make sure it is set up just perfectly when I swap out lures.
Overall, no complaints with 2 years od the cheaper memecaster.
