I'm a big gardener so I'm wondering what kind of sunlight you get and specifically what growing region you're in. Do you plan on a garden? It'll be fantastic to grow food for yourselves, as well as extra shit for chickens/hogs/compost. You can do a small wormbox compost that'll give you abundant worms (fishing, gardening) - worm juice (super fertiziler) - and compost. You can use these and sell the excess. Two easiest techniques are either a stackable drawer-style box for worms/compost, or do a barrel-in-a-barrel with spigot at bottom and just above that a removable tray. That's for worm juice (spigot), compost.. worms are hard to get out of this setup but it's cheap.
