Just recently got back into fishing. Picked up these team catfish double action circle hooks. I was trying to set catfish on a J hook but I kept just ripping the bait right out of their mouth or them steal my bait. Does anyone have any experience using those circle hooks team catfish makes that has the extra elbow in them? I was going to buy some but I have no experience with them. I'll reply with a picture of those hooks for reference. These double action circle hooks I've bought are gonna work great, I know that for a fact. I'm just wondering if there's any added benefit to the extra elbowed DA hooks.
nvm I looked real fast and I cannot find a single fucking picture of the elbowed hooks I'm talking about. Trust me they're reel. It's like an extra wide mouth circle hook but with a hard like 15 degree angle in the hook as opposed to a clean parabola like most circle hooks. I imagine you can just fit more bait on it, like a normal wide mouth circle hook. But would that sharp angle make setting easier? I know with circle hooks you can just reel down and they really just set themselves. Does the sharp angle help this action or prevent a gut hook?
