>>2634181Here are 3 germination plates I used the same swab on all three plates. I've labeled them; The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The swab was sterile, the water was sterile and the plates are sterile. So the only place the bacteria could have come from is the print itself. You can see that the bacteria grew from the streak, not some other point in the plate. So you know it's from the swab, not other external contaminant sources. This is also why making a simple streak pattern is important. Mycelium will only grow from the streak. If it starts anywhere else on the plate it's contamination.
