>>2222074different person but I like to drive into national park turf about as far as I can get my jeep in and then setup a small hike from there a heavier basecamp, I have a daypack with lighter gear if I hike in from there and then have my basecamp as a failsafe to return to for extra water/food/supplies. This winter it will have 12 gallons of water, double 0F bags and emergency rations for a week or two. I'm not going to haul all that weight on my back.
