That's why some stores still sell lead additive, older gasoline engines can't handle the ethanol required by the gubberment and people want them to last a while longer before they need a rebuild.
As for vegetable oil in diesel, again, it's possible but not great. The older an engine is, the less it will take to fuck it up. Older diesels also had fuel systems more prone to issues and VO won't help that.
Now if you have an Army surplus Deuce and a Half you can run that shit on any flammable liquid you please.
