vulcan info: 100 litre capacity, removable side pockets that can be made into a smaller pack with the additional straps, internal frame. This is the bag that the British army based thier bergen on, however they modified it to fit above a utility belt, pic rel, so british army packs sit really high on your waist and do not distribute the weight properly without that belt. The vulcan does not do this, it comes in 4 sizes for different heights, size 4 being for people 6 foot tall and up, size 1 being the smallest. It is the comfiest bag I have ever used. carrying >30kgs of gear feels like much less because of how well it distributes the weight and how it conforms to the contours of your back. I am so fucking pleased with this pack.
I use it for camping, hiking and the side pockets as a day pack for mountaineering.
