What kind of oil did you use and how did you use it?
I carve wood too (pic related).
Last summer I carved an ash walking stick for my grandmother, but the color was really boring, so I tried to dye it with dewberry juice (they grow everywhere at my grandmother's place). I used three coats and it came out so amazing, I recommend everyone to try it! It was a vivid, glowing crimson color. Sadly, I don't have a picture of it.
