>probably Clematis pitcheri, pic relatedIt's definitely not that. Thank you for your suggestion, but I checked it out after you mentioned it and it can't be that. It never had any flowers like that. The only time it flowered was after it took over a tree, and it was only flowering at the very peak of the tree in a bundle, and they were white. I could never get a good view of them it was so high up.
The leaf shape/texture also doesn't match. I wonder if this is an invasive plant and not a native plant.
By the way, ignore the poison ivy in the picture, I'm aware of its presence in the yard, but I don't care about it very much. It stays in a certain patch in the tree line and I'm ok with that. Though I wouldn't mind getting rid of it either. Point is it's not of concern. It's not taking over my yard. This other plant is.
