The weather was pretty warm today, but extremely windy. 60F outside the tunnel and 84F inside the tunnel. ALL the carrot seeds have sprouted now. The Purple Lady bok choy seedlings are turning a purplish color and will need thinned out soon... The mizuna, I think it is mizuna, some Asian green mustard bolted and is nearly to the top of the polytunnel already. The garlic and elephant garlic are still going strong.
I have another load of wood chips for the gardens, but it has a lot of pine and some type of arborvitae, so I'll probably not use too much of it for mushrooms. I'll add a little bit of mushroom spawn for experimentation at least. I still need to fertilize the piles to prep for the mushroom spawn.
All the bricks are now on the newest raised bed and the conduit pipes are in place. I decided to make Xs with them. I'm going to drill holes in them and wire them together at the tops. This uses the same amount of pipes as the other method I've been using that uses purlins, but this will be far more stable. The resulting tunnel is only a couple inches shorter in height as a result.
