I'm going to spend the next 6 weeks alone in Norway with my car from next week onwards and would like to see as many National Parks as possible.
Which ones are (not) worth visiting?
I am planning on driving on driving to the top anyway.
There are around 34 ones on the mainland, the largely maritime ones at the South are already excluded in that number. I thought that I would be able to see all of them until I realised that I would have to rusha lot for that to happen.
I'm mainly interested in hiking and spearfishing. A pack for fishing by rod is with me, just in case. Sadly I have no hunting license. No kayak either.
I really like seeing animals, plants are enjoyable as well but don't fascinate me. In general I prefer dense forests over barren lands.
I don't like being on overrun tourist trails and roads, I would rather not experience that, even if the view is nice.
https://www.norgesnasjonalparker.no/en/ and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_parks_of_Norwaygive me a good outline but it's hard to make a decision based on that. Maybe some national parks are very similar to each other, in that case I wouldn't mind skipping one.
I would go to Dovrefjell to see muskoxs but in case of the other ones I don't know.
In general there are no landbased National parks below Olso, especially the Southeast between Stavangar and Kristiansand has no national parks. Is it nonetheless worth visiting?
