Saw several more fingerlings in the shallows today. Pic is one of them. I almost started crying I was so happy. It means so much that this dream of mine has come true. Not only did I discover that they can reproduce in ponds without flowing water, but I seem to have a breeding population established. Whether it's stable long term remains to be seen. Additionally, I went to a few ditches in the area and caught 3 more nice adult ones I put in the pond too, as well as 10 or so fliers.
Blew a cottonmouth's head off too.
