>>2620222Hey OP, I'm kind of in the ballpark of where you're going, so my experience might help. Like the other anons said, get yourself a guidebook or two (online guides are really helpful too). Look around for parks with lots of spaced out trees, I find I have more luck in there than in forests. Easy beginner mushrooms are chicken-of-the-woods (pic related), hen-of-the-woods, lobster mushroom, lion's mane and oyster. Be sure to bring good gear like knife, basket, walking stick and mosquito netting (that last one is seriously helpful). I'll add more tips tomorrow, hope this helps
