The daughter "Galaxy" is based on the daughter of a namefag on /k/ who came back from the hospital with the news that he had a terminal illness. One of his biggest regrets was that he wouldn't be able to teach his daughter the joy of firearms and the outdoors. Basically we took his daughter and made her part of the /k/ and /an/ board culture. When /out/ came to be it was mostly populated by /k/ and /an/ users and we made her the "official" board mascot.
