recently bought an older one of these off ebay to replace the one I gave my little brother years ago mainly to use as a daypack. But even though it's a great pack, it is way to damn small. People say you'll look like a douche if you're pack is too big. But I am a big guy. And every backpack I have is just damn uncomfortable.
I'm hoping to order a boreas lost coast or gregory savant from rei soon. I tried on a huge gregory pack at dick's(they suck by the way) and it was pretty comfortable.
I tried doing google searches for packs for big guys and only found a couple of ones I'm not crazy about which involve buying different straps from the manufacturer and switching them out.
And what's with the volume ratings on all these packs? Are they frauding? Are they unintentionally frauding? Is 2 liters of soda different than 2 liters in a backpack or am I just a dumbass? I realize that even though there may be only 2 liters of soda, the bottle itself might take up more space in a pack. But if a pack that is supposed to be thirty liters can only hold two or three soda bottles, somethings not right. Yes i realize a soda bottle would take up more than 2 liters in a backpack because of dead space around the top and bottom of the bottle. But shit man.
Here is an example:
The sierra designs feather 25, which looks like a really good pack, says it offers 25 liters of space(1525.6cu)
While ll bean's original bookpack, even though it will last forever, is extremely small. It says it offers 1404cu (23 liters) Can the sierra designs pack be that small? Or is ll bean frauding about the volume?
Am I going to be unable to wear a pack just because I lifted weights when I was younger? Why do manufacturers think that everybody is 5'9" 150lbs?
