>>838468I don't hunt.
I kill rattlesnakes, copperheads and cottonmouths.
The snakes are in my freezer.
I was waiting until I had a few because I hate getting everything setup and just skinning one at a time.
Then I had a crazy week and have 5 now so now I need to skin them all.
I pulled 3 rat snakes out of my friends chicken coup and brought them out to my property so her elderly mother didnt kill them.
Found a gorgeous eastern kingsnake crossing the road onto my property- i grabbed a stick and got him into the woodline safely.
I have a fox living in down by my creek. I've fed him leftover fish from barbques, he's a curious little guy.
I have deer walking through nightly.
I used to have the biggest turkey I've ever seen come through every evening- his beard touched the ground. But I haven't seen him this year so I think a hunter got him unfortunately.
I don't hunt for sport. I asked my buddy to grab any he found at work (he's a logger) because I figured I'd need at least half a dozen. But the last two were so massive I think I'll have enough now.
But if I wanted to hunt for sport, I would.
>>838494There is no bag limit/restrictions on hunting for quite a few pest species here.
Squirrel, fresh water turtles, armadillos, coyotes, venomous snakes, nutria.
There is no penalty for just killing and burying those animals AFAIK.
But its illegal to kill nonvenomous snakes (i personally wouldn't kill one even if it was legal) and any game animal out of season/without a tag of course.
Pic is a beautiful corn I saw sitting on the road one night. I would have loved to have had him out on the property but it was out on the highway and I was more focused on getting him to safety and not run over than catching him.
