For a general-purpose knife, I'd want a wood grip (because pretty) that has etchings all over to prevent any slippage if wet. High quality wood is important, so that even if the coating should get damaged it won't swell from water. I'd also want a finger-guard, so that it would not slip forward. The blade should not end before this guard like it does in the image. That is a very pretty knife, though. A pointed pommel would be useful, as well as a lanyard hole. The blade should be full tang, and have a "normal" point. Grip should be at minimum 10 cm, not counting the area for the finger-guard and rear slip guard. Blade should be long enough to "chop", but no longer. Anything more than that makes it unwieldy, and starts crossing into territory where a machete would be more useful.
Just my two cents.
