>>136799LOL No, it won't. Cold peening doesn't heat up the metal that much. Also, heat treating a nail is easy with just a simple propane torch. Metal of nails is actually pretty soft and the hammering process won't make it brittle. In fact, you want to heat treat it to make it harder at the tip.
