I only wear them when I know it's muddy where I'm going /out/, or when it's really shitty during the winter, though, so I don't know about year-round performance. The sole rubs off on concrete, so that's something to consider, I can't even count how many basic white girls I've seen on campus who wore straight through the heel wedge. But, if you wear thick socks and get them broken in, they're super comfortable for walking in. I'd recommend getting an insulated model if you're really worried about cold feet, though, my toes have definitely gotten cold on some winter hikes.
