Here's my roommates back yard. I moved in with him a couple months ago and my rent is yard/house work instead of cash since I don't have a job (let alone want one).
I wish I had taken pictures of the place before I started working on it. The grass was pretty fucking high, there were a ton of weeds and random stuff growing along side the house, entire plant pots were covered and couldn't be seen. The now fire-pit used to be a flower bed with grass as high as 5ft, I found the Tonka trucks pictured inside of it.
The rose bed had grass as high as the roses, couldn't see anything in there. The area where my hammock is used to be almost as bad as near the sound barrier which I still need to clean out.
All this has taken me about a slow month of work off and on. I can do it at my pace since I'm the only one really doing it.
Since the place is pretty clean now we took down the old rotten fence a couple days ago and put in cement and new posts; all of the boards on the fence I just put on today.
I'm new to gardening but not to yard work. I'm trying to think of where I will make some raised garden beds. (ideas?) I can't do it behind the small tree things next to the wall because legally it's for the fire fighters.
Eventually, I plan to plant enough fruits/veggies to live off of and get all my roommates off of food stamps.
