Have recently had strong wind directly into the open side blow the pegs out the ground, have invested in a bigger tarp that I can make a tent out of, or put up as a lean-to.
I always use a bivvy, sometimes the foot of the bivvy gets wet but nothing gets through. Have slept in a puddle with a bivvy, rained in the night and water pooled under me, I was dry as a bone.
