First one failed. I think I didn't use enough spawn, it stopped growing in the sawdust substrate, and the cardboard substrate just half colonized and got really, really stinky. This time I've taken my fully colonized grain spawn and mixed it with some coffee grounds. I just want to get at least one good flush so I can save the spores to grow in the future and won't need to buy more liquid culture. In the future, I want to try growing oyster mushrooms on peanut shells and woody yard waste, and attempt cardboard and other paper waste again on a small scale.
