>>1907453In some circumstances, sure, but some knots work better than others. When tying line to a hook I used to just use an overhand or pretzel knot, but my hooks were taking off repetitively. I wisened up and started using a clinch knot and I came into pretty good success with welding. Different knots work better for different people for different areas, so do what works best for you.
