There's no real need being fulfilled beside bloodlust, most of those animals are borderline endangered nor do they actually give any challenge that would be worth bragging about, you just drive up to an elephant herd and pop one in it's temple.
Sometimes the money that is paid to arranging these kills goes for the good of community, but that's proven to be a rare exception more than a rule, as is with the kills being the feeble ones.
