>>344668Not saying all the people saying "just start on your own!" are wrong but I'd HIGHLY suggest starting with an instructor, or atleast following tutorials online. Like learning anything new, getting down the foundations is crucial before going off on your own. An instructor can tell you at a glance if you're bending your neck arm too much, or if your finger placement and form are off for some reason.
I got lucky and found cheap 3 day class on living
social.com. Afterwards the instructor offered more classes at a discounted price, which I would have gotten if the place wasn't across town to where I live. It was hella fun.
Also make sure you have somewhere close by to go practice often before you commit to the hobby.
