I took my son canoeing this past Sunday and we gave the stove it's first real test by boiling water for Ramen noodles.
Using 30 ml (1 oz) of HEET (methyl alcohol) it brought 500ml (16.9 oz) of water to a boil in 5 minutes and 10 seconds. The stove then continued to burn for several more minutes before exhausting it's fuel.
The windscreen not only blocks the wind but also directs the hot combustion gases up along the sides of the coffee pot which maximizes the heat transfer.
The HEET costs $1.77 for 12 ounces which works out to about 15 cents per burn.
I'm very pleased with the results...
