Things go great until the blade is sunk up to that plastic wrapover handle, then I have to BEAT HARDER to get it over that 'ledge'.
The Estwing is not only smooth all the way, but the handle is even wedge-shaped. I don't think I would have any trouble splitting a stubborn log with that.
