Most people don't even know that hot deserts are the 2nd most widespread climate type on earth after polar climates. I live in a state with both cold snowy forests, warm deciduous forests in riparian zones, and both hot and cold deserts ( 128F to -34F). The most comfy of the group I have found is colder high deserts. A campfire under the milky way in a high desert in fall or winter is the most comfy in my personal preference. Crisp dry air year round with 4 seasons and enough precipitation to sustain life (thrive even) and agriculture with beautiful vistas is quite pleasant imo. Hot deserts can be just as comfy, especially in the morning and in the cooler months and hot deserts tend to have higher biodiversity and bio-density. You won't know how you'll like it until you experience it and judge it yourself across all seasons. Oregon has some comfy colder high desert by Nevada. Deserts are also king for isolation from civilization for their respective latitudes.
