>>2151914I don't know about them, but I do remember in the 90's people here being up in arms over purple loostrife which never became a huge problem. The combo of garlic mustard and deer on the other hand virtually destroyed the woods here since I was a child. Deer population exploded in the last few decades and they love things like trilliums and saplings and hate garlic mustard. Now what used to be diverse and healthy undergrowth is mostly solid garlic mustard.
Dog strangling vine is even worse though. Doesn't attract any pollinators and almost nothing eats it. It physically chokes out many other plants and spreads huge distances with it's fluffy seeds.
