>>1200459i sight fish them. basically i walk around on shallow flats (usually less than 4 feet deep) and look for the actual fish. to catch it on the fly it has to be actively feeding, then once i see it i slowly stalk in to a comfortable range to make a cast to it, try to drop the fly about a foot infront of it, maybe a little past it, and try to get it to notice my fly and decide it's interesting enough to taste. sometimes they will see my fly, and instantly swim over to hoover it, and other times they'll look at it and follow it for 10 feet before cautiously sucking it in
