I am from california and I have lived here my whole life. Camping from a young age, boyscout here.
You all have given me some hope, and some gratitude for the beauty of the state I live in. California is potentially one of the most geographical diverse areas in the world.
I live in a low-land brush area with scattered Oak tree's, yet a 15 minute drive to my west will put me in damp coastal redwood forests with tree's 300 feet tall.
There is a great amount of BLM land in California, home to ghost towns and deserted buildings depicting the history of settling in what once was an unknown frontier.
It feel's good to see other people out there with an equal enthusiasm for the outdoors, it's unfortunate some of you do not live in a region with more terrain.
