>>1268610It depends on what you do with a footbed, Ive found that roughed deer leather was the most grippy, while rawhide or just a straight 4-7mm vibram sheet conforms to your foot and holds the shape better for longer.
You don't have to be super crafty to make these either, there are some good tutorial videos on the tubes too. I have a pair of leather shears I cut with, but x-acto works (though I have found it a bit too bind-y going through the thicker stuff), or a sharp knife, whatever.
If you buy a sheet that is just the vibram sole material, I can recommend SoleTech "cloud" footing material in 3mm or 5mm thickness to barge glue it onto, also. That makes an ultra light weight sandal.
